Brad Pitt Biography
Brad Pitt got a taste of television when he was barely one and he immediately felt at home on screen, vowing to one day grace the world’s biggest stages, and this he did. Having originated from Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA his chances of appearing in any top moving were slim since Oklahoma is a little known state with minimal film producing capability.
His parents, Jane Etta and Bill Pitt had sired him on December 18 1963 and their main concern for their boy was to get him through school and into a well-paying job. So giving no attention to Pitt’s talk of acting as a career they enrolled him at the Kickapoo High School in Oklahoma and pushed him to pursue a career that would ensure that he worked in an office instead of entertaining an absurd idea of acting.
To satisfy his parents’ wishes Pitt finished high school and continued on to the University of Missouri where he took up journalism. He was bored and uninterested in his classes but he kept on until he came up with a plan to convince his parents that he was transferring to another college in Los Angeles. With his plan succeeding Pitt moved to Los Angeles with nothing but a few dollars in his pocket. His determination to be an actor led him to work as a cleaner and a fast food seller as he tried to pay for his expenses.
His struggle was rewarded by a role in 1998’s ‘The Dark Side of The Sun’. Pitt was phenomenal in the film and he got roles in ‘Happy Together’ and ‘Growing Pains’. In 1991 he co-starred with Geena Davis in the film ‘Thelma and Louise’, a film he attributes for his breakthrough in the acting scene. Fans became aware of the talented young star and soon everyone knew the name Brad Pitt.
His 90’s films include ‘True Romance’, ‘Interview with the Vampire’, ‘Legends of the Fall’, ‘Seven’ and ‘Meet Joe Black’. It was during this decade that Pitt established himself as a competent actor with most of his films receiving awards and making returns in millions of dollars.
The actor’s 2001 role in Oceans 11 remains one of the most memorable ones. In the film he plays as part of a highly skilled group of friends who plot and succeed to rob a closely guarded casino in Las Vegas. He appeared in equally successful films like ‘Oceans Twelve’, ‘The Mexican’, ‘Troy’, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ and ‘Inglorious Bastards’.
Although he earned millions in payment for appearing on ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ his marital life was in jeopardy. Continuous Rumours of an off-screen involvement in co-star Angelina Jolie led to his divorce from Jennifer Aniston. These rumours were eventually confirmed when Pitt moved in with Jolie and their children.
Together with his wife Pitt has worked in extensive campaigns around the world in aid of the less fortunate. His charity stretches as far as Cambodia, Haiti, Ethiopia as well as in the US.
