Arguably one of the most popular stars in Hollywood as well as one of the longest serving acts, Bruce Willis has been acting, singing and producing films from as early as 1980 and up to date he maintains an active career in film. The celebrity was originally named Walter Bruce Willis after his birth on March 19 1955 in the Idar-Oberstein region of West Germany.
His parents David and Marlene Willis raised their American German son in Penns Grove, New Jersey, USA in a comfortable home he received his education at the Penns Grove High School and the Montclair State University in New Jersey. As an excellent student, Willis was never in trouble at school and in fact he provided the role model figure that a good student was expected to follow. Despite this, Willis did not graduate instead following the pull of making an easy buck doing odd jobs around neighbourhood business establishments. Although he is most popular for screen appearances, Willis’ career starter was in music where for a period of ten years starting 1980 he made a living through music.
Bored and seeking a new thrill Willis took up roles in minor un credited films before landing the biggest gig of his double career yet as John McClane in the 1990 film Die Hard. The fame and wealth that came with the role cemented the new actor’s ambitions in the industry and soon he was appearing in high profile and high budget films. Willis reprised the role of John McClane in Die Hard with a Vengeance in 1995 and in Live Free or Die Hard in 2007.
