Chris Evans Biography

Undeniably one of the sexiest stars in Hollywood, Chris Evans has been gracing films for only ten years and already his popularity has made the young actor a favourite with many box office fans. Many attribute the looks of the star to his mixed Italian and Irish heritage from his mother Lisa Capuano, his father is Bob Evans and the Evans family lived in a strict and religious home based on the beliefs of Catholicism. Evans was educated at the New York University and he had previously attended the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in Massachusetts.

Born Christopher Robert Evans on June 13 1981 in Sudbury, Massachusetts, USA, he went into acting in 2000 after a few weeks stint in college at the New York University, although an excellent student Evans felt that his passion lay more on the screens than behind an office table as his father always wanted. Growing up Evans had shown a keen interest in acting, he took up roles at school productions and involved himself in acting programmes during school breaks where he was often given lead roles for his exceptional stage presence. After deciding to follow a full-time acting career at 18 Evans left home for New York in 2000 to seek his luck with film producing houses, success came rather quickly for him as a talent scout spotted him during a casting call.

In the same year Evans got a role in the minor un credited film The Newcomers, next he was featured in guest roles in teen series like The Fugitive and Boston Public. Evans’ first lead role was in Opposite Sex where he played Cary Baston, his role put him in the eyes of producers who saw talent in the teenager and after his last appearance in the eighth episode of the series he went into filming for the major film Not Another Teen Movie. Evans’ ability to take on the role with seriousness and a tad of humour made him an instant celebrity and fans fell in love with his physique immediately declaring him a sex symbol.

Between 2002 and 2005 Evans maintained a busy filming schedule that led to his appearance in six productions namely Eastwick, The Perfect Score, The Paper Boy, Skin, Cellular and Fierce People. Evans displayed a talent that made him versatile to varying roles that ranged from comics to controversial characters with drug related problems.

Also in 2005 Evans shocked audiences yet again with the role of Johnny Storm in the 2005 film titled The Fantastic Four, he gained considerable acclamation along with his co-actors in the film and from the onwards came bigger roles. The actor appeared in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007, a continuation of the Fantastic Four film where he reprised the role of Johnny Storm.

Evans also appeared on The Nanny Diaries, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, Street Kings, Push, The Losers and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. His latest roles in 2011 are in Puncture, Captain America: The First Avenger and What's Your Number?.
