Daisy Lowe Biography
Daisy Rebecca Lowe’s childhood was shrouded with secrecy and lies revolving around the true identity of her father born to Gavin Rossdale and Pearl Lowe on January 27 1989 in Primrose Hill, North London, England, UK she was declared the daughter of a man who turned out to have no biological relationship to her. Unaware of this fact at the time Lowe led an average life, much like any other child, only that her status was a bit higher being the child of celebrity parents. Lowe’s supposed father at the time was a singer named Bronner Lowe and her mother was involved in fashion design, singing and song writing.
She was schooled at the South Hampstead High School in North London where at the time she lived with relatives far away from the media glare that her parents were used to. Bronner Lowe and Pearl Lowe decided that an early exposure of their daughter would be detrimental to her education and that the demands of the public were beyond what a young girl could handle, besides busy careers in entertainment for both parents left no time to focus on the young girl. This is why Lowe was sent to another town where she could lead a normal childhood and concentrate on her studies.
Though away from her parents Lowe developed a keen interest in glamour and she often admired the models on runways she watched on television. Lowe’s parents allowed her a brief stint in front of the cameras when she was two and later when she was a teenager she was featured on the cover of Teen Vogue, this small modelling act was followed by years of inactivity. On completing high school Lowe was signed to London-based Select Models in 2004, then at 15 years she was one of the agency’s youngest recruits.
Lowe quickly rose to the ranks as her unique look attracted gigs with big fashion tabloids like Italian Vogue, W magazine, Urban Outfitters, French Connection, British Harper’s Bazaar and i-D magazine.
By 2006 Lowe had graced runways in major fashion capitals of the world from Paris France to Milan, New York, London and even Asia. She was picked to showcase fashion clothing and accessories for established names in fashion like Urban Outfitters, Chanel, PPQ, Henry Holland, Burberry, Hooch, Hari and Converse shoes.
Lowe has also modelled for Marc by Marc Jacobs, DKNY, Louis Vuitton, Esprit and Pringle of Scotland. The model was at the centre of media controversy after a childhood family secret was leaked in a publication titled All That Glitters by her own mother, in the book a long-time question and suspicion about the true identity of her father was revealed. It was discovered that the person she associated with as a paternal figure was nothing more than a step-father and that her really father was Gavin Rossdale, someone she had luckily been in close connection with throughout her life. Despite the saga Lowe held her head high and criticised the media for using the story to spoil her name.
Lowe continues to model under a contract with Next Worldwide modelling agency.
