David Beckham is one of the most accomplished footballers of the 21st Century. Apart from an occasional game of football at his school he was never involved in big League matches up until he was signed on for Manchester United in 1992. At the time he was only 17 and already living his dream.

His exceptional talent led his new team to success in almost all of their matches and soon Manchester United was becoming a feared name on the pitch. With him on the team Manchester United had an excellent 1998-1999 season, winning not only the Champions League but also the FA Cup and the Premier League. This fete led to Queen Elizabeth knighting Alex Ferguson as a Sir.

United went on to win the Premier League in the two consecutive seasons. Beckham continued to lead the team to success despite rumours of disagreements with the manager, Ferguson. The reason behind the conflict between Ferguson and Beckham was said to be the player’s wife who constantly distracted him from the club’s duties. Finally in 2003, after a decade in Manchester United, Beckham did not renew his contract with the team opting to move to Real Madrid. With Beckham on the pitch the team won the 2003 Spanish Super Cup.
