Demi Moore Biography
Even as a child the life of Demi Gene Guynes, also known as Demi Moore, was filled with controversies and difficulties that revolved around abandonment, death, health complications and drug related violence. Born on November 11 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico, USA, hers was a home that never lacked some sort of drama and this chain begun with a brutal separation of her parents, Charles Harmon and Virginia King, this was after the pair had faced constant confrontations usually after taking too many drinks. Caught in the middle of these fights an ailing Moore was too young to help herself and with no forthcoming medical care she was left with optical damage that almost took her sight.
After her alcoholic and absentee father went away Moore’s life enjoyed relative peace but this was short-lived as her new guardian and father figure took his own life and left the family in a worse situation than before. Times were hard as the household was poverty stricken as Virginia King could not hold a job long enough Moore’s consolation was in acting in school plays where she often felt safe and at ease on the stage. For her education she was schooled at the Fairfax High School in Hollywood, California but her interests were never in academics and with the volatile state of her home she did not make good grades, after a series of disappointing grades she opted to seek success in the film-driven streets of Hollywood at the age of 16.
She left home at 18 and was married to an upcoming musician named Freddie Moore, at the time she posed for nude pictures in magazines for a living, she spent the rest of the time modelling for various agencies and taking roles in minor and un credited films. Moore achieved stardom with the role of Jackie Templeton in the 1982 medical series titled General Hospital, the show became one of the most watched and highly rated television productions of the time and with its much publicity the new actress became known to fans for her acting and captivating looks. The show was aired for a year and in 1983 Moore appeared for the last time on the series but with a grand reputation, a heavy compensation and a busy schedule to film for other roles.
Her following film and television credits included Moonlighting, Bedroom, The Master, Master Ninja, Tales from the Crypt and If These Walls Could Talk. Her fame was on the rise and she was honoured with a nomination for the Best Actress at the Golden Globe Awards in addition to working with names like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ashton Kutcher, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone, her films were highly successful and she was voted the most successful and highest paid actress of the 90’s decade.
Moore has also been featured in the sitcom Will and Grace, she acted as a villain on the popular 2003 film titled Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Mr. Brooks in 2006.
Moore has had relationships with high profile Hollywood celebrities like Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher, with Willis she has three daughters and she is the current wife of former model and actor Ashton Kutcher. She was once a self-proclaimed Scientologist and is a believer of Judaism.
