Hayden Panettiere Biography
Multiple award winner Hayden Panettiere was born Hayden Leslie Panettiere to Skip and Lesley Panettiere on August 21 1989 in Palisades, New York, USA. Hers is an Italian acting family so when Hayden showed an interest in the art at an early age it was an expected move. Her mother was responsible for initiating her into acting through numerous auditions in her Palisades hometown. Hayden’s career started in sitcom television series which she played from the early 90’s into the end of the decade.
In 1994 and while attending South Orangetown Middle School in New York Hayden was called back after an audition for a soap titled ‘One Life to Live’. She was informed that her audition had impressed the series producers and she would be required to start an intensive filming schedule immediately as the show was set to air the same year. Hayden accepted the role but was unsure how to go on with school with the busy program. She quit school and hired a private tutor to take her through middle school.
‘One Life to Live’ was on television for four consecutive seasons between 1994 and 1997. Hayden took on her debut role well and she earned a large following of teen fans and critics praised her ability to take on the role at such a young age.
After appearing for the last time on ‘One Life to Live’ in 1997, she was immediately booked for another sitcom titled ‘Guiding light’. Her role would be more demanding than previous ones but the show’s producers were confident that Hayden’s experience on set would work to her favour, and it did. She received praise and admiration for playing Lizzie, a Leukaemia patient with a sincerity that connected with viewers and drove the message home. The show’s ratings went up and Hayden’s following grew even bigger. She reprised her role in the subsequent series until 2001.
The new decade came with bigger roles for the actress she appeared in ‘Remember the Titans’, ‘If You Believe’ and 2005’s ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing’ where she was cast for the lead actress.
Hayden’s greatest success came with Tim Krig’s fiction series ‘Heroes’, a story line that was set on a group of humans with superpowers. In the series she plays Claire Bennett, a high school girl with a big secret about her healing power. Claire Bennett is shown as she struggles to be a normal teenager while trying to keep the constant battles between the ‘super-humans’ and her own power from the rest of the world.
The series was aired from 2006 to 2010 and is rated as one of entertainment’s success stories. Hayden’s role figure became a teen obsession all over the world. Heroes memorabilia was produced for the series’ devoted fans and Hayden was awarded the Saturn Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role on Television Series in 2007.
Hayden’s next project was ‘Fireflies in the Garden’, and she later starred in the 2009 comedy ‘I Love You, Beth Cooper’.
She is also a singer and her song ‘My Hero is You’ was used as a soundtrack tor the film Tiger Cruise. Hayden is a vegetarian and a vocal supporter of animal rights.
