Jennifer Ellison Biography
Jennifer Lesley Ellison, also referred to as Jennifer Ellison, has had a long-running career dating back to 1999 when as an upcoming teen she began on a long road that would see her feature in all if not almost all of top fashion magazines in the UK. The singer cum actress was born to Kevin and Jane May on May 30 1983 in Liverpool, England, UK.
Ellison lived a happy childhood until the age of six when disagreements between her parents reached a climax and a bitter separation followed, as a young girl brought up in the safety and comfort of two parents Ellison found it hard to adjust as a child of a single mother. She developed a faulting attitude towards her father whom she blamed for abandoning the family. With a lot of help and nurturing to the devastated six year old Jane May was able to return young Ellison to her former self.
ife continued with the young girl engaging in active dance and singing lessons, Ellison enjoyed much support of her talents form her mother and she was enrolled at the Royal Ballet School in Liverpool, London. At the dance school Ellison grew her talent to impressive heights so much that her coaches signed her on for local dance competitions which the young girl won with ease. Next came the regional and the National contests and still Ellison managed to outwit her fellow competitors on the dance floor, in 1996 and at only thirteen years old Ellison was crowned the winner at the National Ballet & Modern Dance Championships, the following year she competed and took home the title for a second consecutive time.
Ellison’s rise to fame came in 1998 where after auditioning unsuccessfully for the soap Brookside she was finally selected to cast on the show in the role of Emily Shadwick O'Leary. The screen character shared similarities with the actress since she was determined as Ellison was when she still kept on casting for the show from 1998 until her efforts bore fruit in 2003 with the achievement of fame and success. The role of Emily Shadwick O'Leary fitted perfectly with Ellison and her performance received critical acclaim from the producers, media and the growing fan base that could not get enough of the sexy star.
She appeared again in 2004 in The Phantom of the Opera as Meg Giry. Following roles were in The War of the Worlds, Carry On Bananas, Jennifer Ellison does Thailand, With a Little Help From My Friends, The Verdict, Dirty Dancing - Time of your Life, The Brief, Hotel Babylon, New Street Law and The Commander.
Ellison also boasts a successful career on the runway as a fashion and lingerie model, she has been featured in a record number of fashion and men’s magazines all over the UK. She has been featured on numerous occasions from 1999 in FHM magazine, Maxim magazine, Nuts magazine and she has also appeared in a catalogue for the Ultimo line of lingerie. Ellison remains one of the sexiest English celebrities with polls and tabloids voting her as one of the world’s sexiest blondes.
