Jennifer Love Hewitt Biography
Jennifer Love Hewitt takes up many roles in the entertainment industry from singing, acting, song writing, directing, writing and acting, she is however popular for her on screen presence and her most famous works are in the series Ghost Whisperer and Party of Five and the film I Know What You Did Last Summer. The talented actress was born in Waco, Texas, USA on February 21 1979 to Herbert Daniel Hewitt and Patricia Shipp. From as early as three years old Hewitt was already a local star in her hometown as she often performed at school events and local gatherings. She was schooled at the Lincoln High School where her popularity grew even more not only because of her singing and dancing skills but also because of her looks that made a number of school boys follow her around.
Hewitt loved the attention and she did not pass a chance to be on stage and show of her talents, this was however as far as she could go sing her farm town in Texas was fairly quiet and talk of film auditions or production companies was unheard of. Hewitt did not give up and one day hoped she could grace the stages that some of the idols she watched on television did, her dream came to pass when a move to the film capital of Los Angeles for her high school education provided an opportunity to showcase her talents to talent scouts there.
A few minor stints in the early 90’s in series like The Byrds of Paradise, Shaky Ground as well as televised campaigns for company products were followed with roles in high profile films like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. Hewitt’s role in the films coupled with her appearance alongside established acts of the time like Lauryn Hill and Whoopi Goldberg made the new actress an instant celebrity she earned herself a following of fans who adored her screen presence as well as her captivating looks. Hewitt became a household name and was featured in numerous magazines and tabloid polls as one of the sexiest actresses.
In 1995 Hewitt was cast for the role of Sarah Reeves in the popular series Party of Five where her fame grew even more with the teen viewers, she reprised her role in the series until its last showing in 1999.
Hewitt also followed her other passion and ventured into singing in the early 90’s, signed under Atlantic Records she released a debut album titled Love Songs in 1991, the pop-soul themed album became a hit in Asia and in the US and Hewitt made her mark as a respected singer and actress. The second album by the star was released in 1995 and was titled Let’s Go Bang but her production was a flop and it barely made it to the ranks of its predecessor.
Hewitt’s most successful act yet was in the 2005 series called Ghost Whisperer, she played Melinda Gordon, a young antiques shop owner who had the ability to speak with the dead. Her character guided the wandering souls to talk to their living relatives before they could rest in peace. Hewitt reprised her role until the series end in 2010.
For her more recent project, Hewitt is directing and producing a film titled Wait Till Helen Comes, the film will premiere in 2011.
