Joanne Rowling first made a name in writing in 1996 under the masculine alias J.K Rowling, as one of the top female minds in entertainment today J.K Rowling is the genius behind the Harry Porter novels that prompted the creating of the million dollars and multiple award winning Harry Porter sequels.
Her roots go back to Yate, Gloucestershire, England, UK where she was the first child to Anne and James Rowling, her birth date was on July 31 1965. She was educated at the St Michael's Primary School in Winterbourne, England, the Wyedean School and College in Gloucestershire and the University of Exeter where she majored in Classics and French. A genius from childhood, Rowling was an out of the box thinker who failed to get along with her peers since many of them could not understand the young girl’s thinking, lucky enough Rowling had a guardian in an aunt who could understand her reasoning.
James and Anne Rowling were low income earners so for young Rowling life was everything short of luxury and she had to grow up in several remote villages in the interior regions of England, to add on her mother was always sick giving Rowling the task of watching over her sibling most of the time. This proved to be an easy task for her and it was also the beginning of a passion in creating stories in her mind.
After college Rowling worked as a teacher before the drive to write pushed her into authoring, the first of her work was published in 1996 and it was titled Harry Porter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This book had been inspired by many details of Rowling’s past from her home life to school experiences and the characters in it had only been slightly altered but left to retain most of the aspects of a real history. With the first book Novel lovers were taken by her creativity and soon other people were made aware of the book buying it out of the shelves almost instantly.
Demand for more of her works threw Rowling into the spotlight with many getting shocked on discovering that she was female after all, this was even more instrumental to her fame as many came to respect her not only as a novelist but also as a role model to other women.
She followed on the initial book with another titled Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 1998, this was just as well received as the predecessor and the growing fan base expanded from teens to adults. In the Harry Porter novel series Rowling authored Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 1999, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2000, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2003, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 2005, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007.
The books were turned to films titled the same with her taking the role of director, Harry Porter films are today one of the most awarded and highest earning productions.
The success of the Harry Porter books and films have been attributed to the personal touch in them since Rowling’s real life forms a big part of the creations, also the scenes and animations from the films put many audiences in the feeling that they are living in and experiencing the life of Harry Porter and his friends.
Rowling is a mother of three.
