In addition to this her birth on April 19 1979 was in the film-capital of Los Angeles, California, USA after which her parents named her Kate Garry Hudson.
Hudson’s interest in acting became evident when as a young girl she insisted on going along with her parents to film shoots and premieres for various films at cinemas, as an active child she was a common figure at the backstage of many productions and the film crew adored the young wannabe actress. However with the separation of Bill Hudson and Goldie Hawn she was able to find support and encouragement from her mother and step-father Kurt Russell to follow on with her dream. With the help and influence of her known parents Hudson made her film debut in the 1996 series Party of Five, hers was however a guest role and she remained unknown in entertainment. Together with co-stars such as Owen Wilson she received a buzz of media attention and almost all her films went to the top of box office charts, with millions trickling in from ticket sales and movie CD’s Hudson began appearing in polls and lists among the wealthiest actresses of the time.
In 2006 Hudson was at the centre of controversy after media publications reported that her petite body was of concern and that her body weight was similar to that of an anorexic patient. Hudson retaliated with a legal case that later developed into a highly publicized legal battle, the actress however announced that her health and weight was in good shape and there was no need for concern by the media.
