Kourtney Kardashian Biography
Upper-class and celebrity couple Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian had their first child Kourtney Mary Kardashian on April 18 1979 in Los Angeles, California, USA. The family was thrown into stardom after Robert Kardashian took up a job as a celebrity lawyer to names like O.J Simpson. Kourtney spent her early years moving from one parents house to the other and growing up in a large family that comprised of half siblings from each of her parents’ other marriages. She is however known in the media as Kourtney Kardashian of the Kardashian sister’s fame, which includes Kim and Khloe Kardashian.
She developed a keen interest in art from a young age and was always acting in front of her friends. On noticing this Kris and Robert Kardashian enrolled her for art classes and she went on to graduate with a degree in Theatre of Arts from the University of Arizona, USA. Kourtney had previously attended the Marymount High School in California and the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, all of which were strict religion-based schools.
After completing college Kourtney auditioned for several shows unsuccessfully before getting a break on the 2005 Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive show, the show required Kourtney to host as players competed in a bid to raise money for charity. The show received fairly good reviews but did not make it to top spots in television. A fairly unknown Kourtney took on an even bigger project in 2007 that saw her feature as herself in a reality show titled ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’.
The show drove her to instant stardom as she appeared alongside sisters Kim and Khloe in a chronicled show of their everyday celebrity lives from parties to the family owned business. Although the show was successful, its producers felt that much of the attention had been given to another sister, Kim kardashian, at the expense of Khloe and Kourtney so another show was premiered for them and it was named ‘Khloe and Kourtney Take Miami’. The show was also a success and Kourtney became a household name not as the Kardashian sister but as Kourtney Kardashian. She was also featured in another show titled ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York’, where she co-starred as herself alongside Kim Kardashian.
Besides reality television Kourtney is a big name in the fashion scene with several clothing labels to her name, she is the co-founder and co-owner of an uptown boutique called D-A-S-H with stores in Los Angeles and New York., the store is owned by the three Kardashian sisters. Another equally popular clothing store by the socialite is Smooch, also with stores in Los Angeles and is a joint venture with her mother.
Kourtney is also an author and has written a book titled Kardashians Konfidential which is a collection of the private lives of the trio and was also co-written by Kim and Khloe. Other businesses with her sisters include fashion lines like Bebe and Virgins. Saints & Angels.
Kourtney’s looks have been attributed to an exotic heritage coming from an Armenian father, and for this she has been voted in tabloids several times as one of the sexiest celebrities today. She and her sisters are known for their curvaceous figures and many look-alike sisters have fought to be associated with them.
She is a mother of one with her long-time love Scott Disick.
