Lauren Conrad Biography
Multi-talented celebrity Lauren Katherine Condrad if the first-born child to Jim and Cathy Condrad and she was born in Laguna Beach, California, USA on February 1 1986. Conrad was drawn to acting and design. As a young girl she was always changing her outfits and sewing them the way she wanted. Her love for fashion was supported by her parents who agreed to take her to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she majored in fashion design. After a few weeks she quit the school and enrolled at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in California.
Conrad became a household name in 2004 after appearing on an MTV reality show named ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’. For the next five years she continued to grace television and also built on a big fan base. The actress took up another role in the teen series ‘The Hill’, for the role she won the Teen Choice Award in 2006.
Besides acting Lauren worked on building her own fashion empire and also took up modelling jobs to support herself through college. Her modelling career was so successful that famous fashion magazine Vogue offered to work with her in the magazines teen publication called Teen Vogue. In addition to working for the magazine she took up modelling jobs for the fashion house and appeared on the covers of its magazines.
Conrad’s celebrity star was rising and she was fast becoming one of the wealthiest and most successful teen stars. She appeared on the ‘Epic Movie’ in 2007 and was also linked to several relationship scandals. With Conrad’s life in the limelight she went on to have numerous short-lived dates and was open to admit that long-term dating was simply too boring for her. Critics questioned whether her escapades were a ploy to get more views for her reality show or she was actually being sincere about her love life.
In 2008 Conrad started her move to owning her dream fashion house, she joined People’s Revolution, a public relations company, after quitting her job at Vogue although the magazine had aided her career rise.
Throughout Conrad’s reality television career she has appeared on a number of reality shows including Tyra Bank’s America’s Next Top Model, Family Guy, Greek, MTV Cribs, and Who wants To Be A Millionaire.
Besides acting and modelling Conrad is a writer and she has co-authored several books including her biography. Some of the books titles are ‘Sweet Little Lies’, ‘L.A Candy’, ‘Style’ and ‘Sugar and Spice’.
She is also an entrepreneur and her fashion house was established in 2008. A year later she co-founded a film production company named Blue Eyed Productions. Conrad’s first productions will include the making of movies based on her biography and other works that she has authored.
Controversies about her dating lifestyle do not end with reports of numerous lifestyles but they also include her relationship with an older man that she recently moved in with. Conrad’s current love interest is Kyle Howard, a fellow actor to the star.
