Mark Wahlberg Biography
Born to a family of 11, Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg is the son to Donald Edward Wahlberg and Alma Elaine Donnelly. His birth was on June 5 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA to a middleclass couple that raised him in the beliefs of Catholicism. He goes by the professional name Mark Wahlberg and for his education, the actor, producer, and director attended the Copley Square High School in Boston, Massachusetts.
With his family being so large, Wahlberg did not enjoy the privilege of having the dotting attention of his parent s and most of the time he was left under the watch of his older siblings. This even became worse when at the age of 10 his parents went their separate ways and he was left under the guardianship of his mother. The influence young Wahlberg got from his brothers and sisters was far from exemplary and with Donald Edward Wahlberg and Alma Elaine Donnelly out on most occasions to fend for their nine children, there was no one to correct the errors of the child.
Wahlberg was drawn into the teen gangs and he resorted to spending most of his time on the streets instead of attending his high school classes. At the time he had been raised with the notion that being under lockup was something that had to be achieved and with many of his peers and siblings having been in jail on more than one occasion, Wahlberg intentionally sought out to be just like them. To achieve this he would get involved in physical confrontations with anyone even when there was no reason to do it, to make this even worse he was often behind racial violence where he attacked and severely wounded those that were not of his nationality.
After serving time Wahlberg decided to clean up his act and soon he found his way to his faith in Catholicism, in the early 80’s he joined the boy band New Kids on the Block but this was a short lived stay as he did not rhyme well with the members of which one was his elder brother. The next gig for Wahlberg was in 1989 also in a band that was named Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, here he received fair success starting from the early 1990’s. After several hit singles and music videos with the band, he left to pursue a career on the film screens.
Wahlberg made his debut in 1993 with the film The Substitute, this caught the eye of audiences and critics but it was not until after the next project that he was cast into the limelight for his unique stage presence as well as he undeniably good looks. He went on to feature in The Basketball Diaries, Renaissance Man, Boogie Nights, Three Kings, Planet of the Apes, The Italian Job, Invincible Vincent, Shooter, We Own the Night, The Happening, Max Payne, The Lovely Bones, and Date Night.
He is currently filming for the latest projects which will air in 2012, these are Contraband and Ted.
