Nick Jonas Biography
Nick Jonas has been on the entertainment scene for less than a decade but he is already a known figure and is rated highly among the most successful acts of the last decade. The star was originally named Nicholas Jerry Jonas following his birth on September 16, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, United States. Jonas’ mixed race musical heritage begun with Paul Jonas and Denise Miller, devoted parents who encouraged all their vocally talented sons to go after music careers. Their advice would lead to the rise of one of recent time’s sibling-band successes.
Health complications kept him from being involved in physically draining activities and he was often left at home when his siblings went to school or to play sports with their friends. He spent a lot of time by his mother’s side, the pair was known for doing everything together and where one was so was the other. One of his favourite pastimes was listening to classical hits after he was done with home-schooled classes. Jonas listened to names like Stevie Wonder and he vowed to one day be just as successful as his hero.
Jonas became successful through productions for Walt Disney Channel alongside his siblings, if it was not acting in the company’s films then it was singing as well as producing soundtracks to movies under the trio band the Jonas Brothers.
Some of the productions for Disney include Camp Rock 1 & 2, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers: Living the dream, JONAS and Night at the Museum. Jonas Brothers: Living the dream is a reality show that follows the lives of the teen band and their celebrity life, conflicts, relationships and basically everything to do with the stars. In Camp Rock 1 the Jonas Brothers trio played musicians at a camp where talented teens got a chance at coaching and probably a recording deal with a celebrity on winning a singing competition.
Besides acting Nick Jonas is a musician, he has an established music career with the Jonas Brothers Band as the lead singer. Albums produced by the band include ‘Jonas brothers’, ‘A Little Bit Longer’ and ‘It’s About Time’. The success of the Jonas Brothers teen pop band is seen in the album sales of close to 20 million copies worldwide in the short time that they have been on the entertainment scene. Some of his hit singles with the band are ‘Burnin Up’ and ‘S.O.S’.
Forbes Magazine has consistently had Nick Jonas on their Wealthiest Celebrities Under 21 list. He is considered a sex symbol and has a cult following of teen girls who worship the teen and follow every one of his productions. Along with his band he has become a fashion icon looked up to many for his tight jeans look and pop rock inspired clothing style.
For his roles in Disney Channel films he scooped the Iconic TV Actor Award at the 2010 Teen Icon Awards as well as a nomination for the Choice Music award at the same event.
Nick Jonas’ favourite sports are baseball and football. He makes a point of attending most the matches by the New York Yankees baseball team.
