Nicole Scherzinger Biography
Nicole Elikolani Valiente Prescovia Scherzinger was born to Rosemary and Alfonso 29 June 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. She was raised in Louisville, Kentucky by her mother and step-father after her parents went their separate ways. She always knew that singing was her life’s calling therefore she took up everything that dealt with music from performing with her all-girl pop band, ‘Edens Crush’ to taking up theatre arts at the Statewright University in Ohio. Nicole also studied at the Meyzeek Middle School before joining the DuPont Manual High School.
Her family was modest and very religious. There was barely enough to go by so Nicole had to meet her needs by performing at local gigs at her school and other entertainment venues. When she could not earn anything her mother, whom she credits for her survival, was always there for her.
The singer became a known figure through the PussyCat Dolls, an all-girl band that soared to success in 2003 with the debut song ‘Don’t Cha’ from their title album ‘PussyCat Dolls’. The band also recorded another single ‘StickWitu’. The hit topped billboard charts for weeks.
‘When I Grow Up’, a single from the group’s Doll Domination album was top ten in US music charts. ‘I hate This Part’ was also another of the PussyCat Dolls’ success hit.
While still at school, Nicole took part in the popular PopStars music competition and on winning she was allowed to join the ‘Edens Crush’ band on background vocals. The short-lived group released only one hit single in 2001 title ‘Get Over Yourself (Goodbye)’.
Nicole also worked on solo projects, singing with artists like Will Smith and Shaggy, and Avant in the hit single ‘Lie About Us’. . Another of Nicole’s successful singles was ‘Physical’, collaboration with Timbalad and Keri Hilson. Her album titled ‘Her Name Is Nicole’ was set to hit stores but did not. There are reports that the singer has an untitled album that is yet to be released.
She is an actress having appeared in ‘Sabrine The Teenage Witch’, ‘Cane’, ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’. She had minor roles in ‘Chasing Papi’, ‘My Wife & Kids’, and on ‘Half and Half’.
The star has been voted one of the sexiest celebrities on numerous occasions. Her looks are credited to her exotic Hawaiian and Russian background. Growing up Nicole was the story book definition of ugly duckling. She developed later than her peers so when her age mates were out hanging out with guys she stayed behind and wroth her music. She later blossomed to a beauty. The singer never got to date until she was much older because all the boys feared her grandfather who was a church minister.
She sang the song ‘Breakfast In Bed’ for the movie ’50 First Dates’.
She is a singer, writer, dancer and actress. Nicole has sister, Keala. She dated and was set to marry Nick Hexum but the pair separated.
The singer made appearances at the tenth season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and walked away as the overall winner.
Nicole is the girlfriend to Lewis Hamilton.
