Sienna Miller Biography
Sienna Rose Miller has taken over catwalks and film scenes since her entry to the limelight in 2001 as Sienna Miller, born of British and South African ancestry on December 28 1981 in New York City, New York, USA, she spent her formative years in London, England. In 1985 Miller was enrolled at the Heathfield St Mary's School in Ascot, Berkshire staying on until 1992 when she returned to New York and took up acting classes at the popular Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City. While in London Miller was also enrolled at the Francis Holland Junior School briefly before her move to the U.S.
Her interest in theatre, fashion and art was not surprising since both her parents dealt in one form of art or the other, her mother, Jo Miller was one of the administrators of the Lee Strasberg Institute where Miller was enrolled and Edwin Miller, her father was an enthusiast of Chinese artefacts and had previously quit a high profile job in order to focus on his passion. The family art gene was therefore spread to the Miller children and Sienna was not left out.
Miller’s love for acting has led to a successful career that includes films like ‘Hippie Hippie Shake’, ‘Edge of Love’, ‘High Speed Savannah’, ‘Factory Girl’, ‘Layer Cake’, ‘Interview’ and ‘Alfie’. Miller also appeared on the popular ‘Casanova’ film as Francesca Bruni, in ‘Camille’ as Camille Foster, in ‘Stardust’ as Victoria as well as in ‘South Kensington Sharon’ as Sienna Rose. Miller is currently filming for ‘New Year’s Eve’ and ‘Yellow’ which will be premiered in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
The actress’ time on film from 2001 has involved high profile films with numerous awards and box office earnings of billions of dollars.
Between 2007 and 2009 Miller was involved in active modelling under the Select Model Management based in London. She graced catwalks and appeared in photo shoots for big fashion names like Pirelli, Italian Vogue, Pepe Jeans, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein as well as international beverage company Coca-Cola.
She modelled designer perfumes, lingerie, denim jeans, dinner dresses as well as nude for men magazines she appeared on the 2003 topless calendar issue of Pirelli magazine. The success of Sienna Miller was compared to established names like Kate Moss and Tyra Banks, she also pulled a following of fans, both male and female who considered her a sex symbol.
Miller is the founder and owner of Twenty8Twenty, a fashion label dealing mainly with denim jeans and was founded in 2007.
She has used her status as a celebrity to raise funds for various causes such as the 2010 Haiti relief fund and has donated to victims of civil wars in The Congo. Her travels around the world have seen her offer assistance to victims of natural calamities as the Global Ambassador for International Medical Corps.
The star’s sex symbol has attracted the attention of many men especially those in Hollywood, Miller has been linked to numerous short-lived relationships with actors Jude Law, Rhys Ifans and Balthazar Getty.
