Long-time spouse to legendary sportsman David Beckham, Victoria Beckham hails from Harlow, Essex, England, UK and she was born Victoria Caroline Adams to Jacqueline and Anthony Adams on April 17 1974. She was schooled at prestigious institutions owing to the family’s wealth, she studied at the Jason Theatre School and the Laine Theatre Arts where she received coaching on modelling and dancing. Victoria had previously attended the St. Mary's High School in chestnut but left on deciding that modelling was her calling.
She took part in several clothing shows but never made it far so she decided to attend a casting call for young singers who would form a singing group. Having never sung in public Victoria was in it just for fun and she never expected to make it to the newly form Spice Girls pentane-group. With the girl band Victoria’s rise to stardom was set in motion.
Now a refined woman with a notable sense of fashion Victoria Caroline Adams became Posh Spice and the girls sold out their debut album title ‘Spice’ in 1996. The sexy ladies brought revolution to the music scene which had been previously dominated by boy bands like Westlife, Boyz II Men and NSync. Their music was fresh, just what music lovers needed and so the public went all out to buy and listen to the music.
Victoria became one of the most successful artists of all time together with her band and they sold over 40 million albums worldwide. The girls turned into instant sex symbols and it was during this time that David Beckham is said to have spotted Posh Spice at an airport broadcast and he vowed to make her his wife. The two met a few years later during a Spice Girls concert and hit it off immediately. Victoria was wed to Beckham in 1999 and she had her third name change to Victoria Beckham.
During her group days she had hit singles like ‘To Be One’, ‘Spice Up Your Life’, ‘To Become One’, ‘Stop’ and ‘Say You’ll Be There’. The group albums include ‘Spice World’ and ‘Forever’.
Victoria is a fashion designer and together with her husband they are known for their shopping sprees and fashion taste. Hers is a life reminiscent of a fairy tale with the pair appearing on Forbes Magazine richest couples list on numerous occasions. She and her husband have been voted by People Magazine as one of the top 100 Most Beautiful People.
The singer has also had a career in television by making appearances on Ugly Betty, Project Runway, Coming to America and Full Length & Fabulous. She has also authored books titled That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything In Between which gave tips on fashion, beauty and style and Learning To Fly.
After breaking into motherhood she was inactive until 2000 when her debut single as a solo artist came out. The single titled ‘Out of Your Mind’ was followed by others like ‘Not Such an Innocent Girl’, ‘Let Your Head Go’, ‘A Mind of Its Own’ and ‘This Groove’ all of which were from the album ‘Victoria Beckham’. Her solo career did not succeed as expected at the album sales barely went platinum.
